Overview
The students
of commerce and management at St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous) are given the
opportunity to take part in a one week long international study tour. The study
tour enables students to get acquainted to international business environment
and learn holistically.
Objective & Scope
Fast changing
global economy presents many challenges to managers and corporations seeking to
stay competitive, and to students and academicians who wish to internationalize
their qualifications and curriculum. International study tour organized by
department of commerce and management aims to bridge this gap by providing
insights into a variety of business topics and combining classroom learning,
industry engagement and practical experience through international study tour.
The international tour includes visit to industries, a university and local
places of interest.
1.Industry visit: A minimum of 2 to 3 reputed industries preferably large-scale
manufacturing. The visit should provide students greater clarity on management
concepts & students should practically experience how these concepts are
put into action.
2.
University visit: This would include a seminar cum workshop organized by local
university. The programme would cover brief training session on employability
skills, followed by a session local culture and education system. Further the
visit would also provide networking opportunities for faculty members and
students.
3.
Exposure to socio-cultural environment: When students travel to different
geographies they are exposed to ideas, customs and social behavior of other
societies. This may be through various experiences like visit to local places
of interest and interaction with locals. These activities make students to able
to indulge in culturally different situations, and dealing with them
appropriately.
