Industrial Visits

Industrial Visits
Through industrial visits, students gain hands on practical knowledge on various industrial processes and its management concepts. When they see how things work in reality, it gives them a clear idea about the respective field they would be pursuing and the amount of effort involved in the same. The subjects and concepts they study will start making more sense to them. Students in their 2nd year are taken for a local industrial visit and in their 3rd year for an outstation industrial visit. Further international industrial study tours are also undertaken periodically.

[2] Toyota

An Industrial visit to Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited, manufacturing unit located at Bidadi was organised for the students of B.Com and M.Com. Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt Ltd is a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan (with Kirloskar Group as a minority owner), for the manufacture and sales of Toyota cars in India. Students got an opportunity to witness the manufacturing process of three Toyota models, namely - Etios, Liva, and Corolla. Toyota also has a separate manufacturing & distribution facility of spare parts adjacent to main production line. Since it was difficult to cover the entire plant in one visit, the company officials explained some portion of manufacturing process through presentation and rest through a tour. Students were shown the entire process of manufacture to final assembly of different vehicles. At the end there was an interactive session with production team who clarified certain doubts raised by the students. By and large the visit was very much informative to students who have gained practical knowledge on various aspects of manufacturing. The visit was a fruitful affair as the students were able to relate their classroom learning to a practical scenario. The following batches were taken to Toyota industrial visit:
